We’ve all heard of ‘Lorem ipsum’ - the dummy text used as a placeholder for real content. This allows a designer or developer to concentrate on the design of a web page - without it looking empty or using distracting real copy. It has its roots in Latin - though a distorted and nonsensical version of the language. A typical snippet looks like:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec eu urna ac mauris blandit laoreet quis porta nulla. Integer sed massa nec enim gravida dictum. Vivamus porta tempus suscipit. Nullam cursus tempus porta…

However, we’re no longer in ancient times and many modern-day alternatives have sprung up - some to comic effect. I recently discovered Cipsum - a corporate jargon version with all the ‘deep dives’ and ‘synergies’ you could ever want.

It’s also the perfect fit for one of my clients who operate in a very professional environment. The ridiculousness of it gives me a good laugh and I have definitely met people in a professional context who use unnecessarily obfuscating language such as this:

Leverage agile frameworks to provide a robust synopsis for high level overviews. Iterative approaches to corporate strategy foster collaborative thinking to further the overall value proposition. Organically grow the holistic world view…
